Where is My Home?

Where is my home? Is it Canada or is it Syria? I never knew. I was young. I didn’t understand Why did I have to leave the place I called mine? My home now is Canada. When I moved here to Canada, I thought it wasn’t going to be a good journey. But I was wrong. It was awesome! I used to believe home was just A place I eat in A place I shelter in But no, it wasn’t about that. It was about love! My home is just like any other. My family loves to dance to Arabic music. The kitchen is where my mom makes rice and chicken which in Arabic is called Kabsa. My room is filed with hijabs and abayas. The basement is where the laundry machines are placed. My brother’s room is all toys. I can feel love in my family. Home is where my family gathers and enjoys life. I love my home. It fills me with joy! I have learned that home is love, hope, and family. I can’t find home if I already have one. I am home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity For helping me find and define, The meaning of home for humankind, And to make this world a better place to enjoy.
