Home

Home is a very complicated word. Having a house and a home are very different. A house is physical, a home isn't just four walls and a roof. A home is a place to escape, a feeling, not just a structure. A place where you can be with loved ones, Family, and build relationships, make core memories, relax, and be loved. Your own place to be you, not what the world demands. Home is one of the words that is super hard to decode. Some people think it is not at all important, but everyone deserves a good home. Family is quite important in almost any home. Having someone to guide you, teach you, love you. Even better is having more than one person to love you. In my home, I have 5 people doing that for me. Sisters to just play with and relax. A mom to bake with and cook, and a dad to play chess with and to teach me to play basketball and volleyball. These people in your lives are not just there to love you, but to teach, support, and continuously be there for you. Your people are always there for you. No one is ever alone. In my family, we almost always have someone laughing, always talking and always learning. Home is a very important part of life, and family is a very important part of Home. This is why I strongly believe family matters and is connected to home. Memories. Things stored within your mind. Memories are built on time and relationships. Memories make you feel something. No matter how you fight them or try to stop them, emotions connected to the memories will bubble up. Most of my memories take place with family, at a gathering, laughing about nothing at all, playing , or just being together. Playing laser tag in the backyard, the power up ring of the laser guns, the flashing colours as we all disperse. Some other memories include friends, the soft pull of the yarn as we crochet, the click of knitting needles and the chatter during our time together. Having good memories or bad memories, they can affect your take on Home, or anything. Core memories are the memories that are treasured in a special pocket in your mind. They are Memories that will never fade over time like other memories will. These are times, people or even emotions that your mind will never let go. One at a time, memories are stored in that little quiet pouch in your mind, soul. Memories are not just the feelings, but the time spent alone, peaceful, together, chaotic, or just floating in your happiness. Memories are best made when you are where you feel safe, seen, and loved. Memories help build relationships and relationships help build memories. It is like a cycle, a loop in time that can’t be pulled free, no matter what. These help build homes. Yours and mine. Comfort. Feeling and being safe. Knowing that you will be loved and kept close, safe. A home builds up and gives you this feeling of safety no matter where you are, an area where you can be yourself without any worries about what has happened or what is to come. A home where someone will comfort you. Keep you safe and warm. Comfort is built over time. It makes your home your sanctuary, your way and place to escape reality. An escape of the demands of people, life, and reality. When you build your home with love, joy, and safety, those all meld together and create this feeling that fills your home to the very top, comfort. Love. One very important thing. Not only in a home, but in life. Having someone to love and being loved is very important. Family also ties in with love, because they're the first people to love you and to teach you to love. Having love in your life improves what you see as important and a complete necessity. Love is not just this emotion. It’s a thought, a word, a gesture. Love is given and received. A gift worth almost more than anything. Love can be given by you to anyone, anything. Love in my life comes mostly from my family, siblings, friends, and companions. In a home you feel safe, warm, comforted and loved. Unconditionally loved in your own way or in anothers. Love can build a family, and a family can build memories and memories can help build a home. A home can be built of different things, and every home is important. Every person in the world deserves a home. Not just a house, but a home where you can be yourself. A home should be a place where you want to go, not have to. My home is made up of the people in my life, my parents and siblings. Everyone needs a place to hold core memories, family, be a sanctuary, and a place where love grows and fill you to the brim.
