Home

Home is a special place to me. It is not perfect, but it is where I feel safe and happy. When I walk inside, I know I belong there. My home smells like food cooking and sounds like people talking and laughing. After school, I like to drop my backpack by the door and sit down. At home, I can be myself. I can talk about my day, even if it was bad. Someone always listens. Sometimes we joke around, and sometimes we are quiet together. Both feel nice. My home can be noisy. The TV is on, someone is calling my name, and dishes are clanking in the sink. Other times, it is calm. I can hear the clock ticking and the wind outside. No matter what, it feels comfortable. We do many things together at home. We eat meals, play games, and watch movies. On weekends, we clean, relax, or just spend time together. These small moments make my home special. Home is also where I learn important lessons. I learn how to help others, how to share, and how to say sorry. When I make mistakes, I am forgiven. That helps me learn and grow. Even when I am sad or scared, home makes me feel better. It is like a warm blanket that wraps around me. One day I might move away, but home will always stay in my heart. Home is not just a building.
