The Meaning of Home

Today I’m going to tell you about what home means to me. Home to me is a place where memories are made, comforting family is there for you, and love is there when you need it. First, home is a place of love and comfort. Whenever I feel sad, mad, or upset, someone is there to make me feel better. They can give me a hug or make me laugh. Next, when I come home from school and I had a hard day, I sometimes smell yummy food like cookies, baked goods, warm soup, and more. Also, when I look around, I see a family sitting at a table, smiles, welcoming people, loving people keeping you safe, cozy furniture, a warm fire, and love exploding. Finally, when I listen carefully, I can hear laughter, quietness, snoring, the hum of a washing machine, chatting, and sometimes, nothing at all. I think that everybody should have a home. Even a small home works. The most important thing though, is to have a home that is safe and comfortable. I can’t imagine what it would be like out there without a home. Even if I don’t win this competition, I just hope that many homeless people can receive a home. I think everybody should have a safe and cozy space.
