Homeless, Not Helpless?

Homeless, Not Helpless? A tangible place that you can feel and walk into with comfort and pride, A place when you get there you’re allowed to hide From the world that can make you ache inside. But what is home when you live on the streets where the noise is the only thing keeping you alive, And what is home when everyone you loved decided to hide From you or the world it wasn’t very clear But the minute they got behind the wheel, they decided to steer Left or right, didn’t matter as long as it was out of your sight. So you were left alone, with no one or no place to call home, So what is home to somebody who survives alone? Is it that spark of hope you get when you decide to just keep on trying Because if there is a night you feel happy it’s a night where you’re not crying Home may be when someone just stops to talk Because everyone else is more excited to walk Away from you as if you’d done something wrong But how could you be the off key note to their once liked song That now sits in the back of their memory being pushed along? A home to a homeless person could be hard to find It may take longer to read in between the lines. So it could be hard to find a place to feel safe when the streets are all you know, ` But I think home for them is the people who make their dull days glow.
