What does Home mean to me

To me, home means safety. It is a place where you feel welcome and where you are loved by your family and pets. Someone once said “a house is made of walls and beams, A home is made of love and dreams.” Safety. To me safety is something we all need. Everyday I wake up and watch the sunrise out my window and I know that I will be safe. When I am at home, I feel safe. When I am at school, in my neighborhood and even in my country, I feel safe. I know that I am safe. As my mom always said “ You will always be safe as long as you are with your family.” I like when she says that to me because it always calms me down if I am scared about something. To me a home is a place where you should feel welcome and warm. When I see homeless people out on the street, I feel so sorry for them because they don't have a home to feel welcome. It’s even worse when it is the winter time and they are out there freezing to death or even getting frostbite. When I come home I am welcomed by my dogs and my family. We cook dinner together and even sometimes we bake. When I am with my family I always know I am at home. My family is always so loving when I need help with homework. They are there to help me. We love to watch movies together, drink hot chocolate and eat popcorn and chips together. This is what home means to me. I hope that this is what home also means to you and when you get home you can also realize this too.
