Meaning of Home

Home, for everyone, is different. For some, it may be a building or an apartment and for others, it may be a shelter. That's why they created ‘’Habitat for Humanity’’, to build houses for people in unfortunate situations. It was also established to teach others that home is not just a roof over your head, it's a place to feel safe and loved. If you are not fortunate enough to afford a roof over your head, you may have to live in a shelter. There, you may see all different people with the same problem, they do not have an affordable house to live in. Reasons for this are plentiful. People may end up in shelters because they cannot find a way to get enough money, they cannot either get, or hold a job or, they may even have a non-recognizable disability. Some examples of these could be depression, dyslexia, anxiety and Bradyphrenia, which is when you take a longer time to process things. Imagine getting kicked out from your house because you could no longer afford it, and having a family, how stressful would that be? Fortunately, I do not have to deal with the stress of home loss and bankruptcy because I live in a beautiful house with kind and amazing neighbors. I wake up everyday feeling safe and loved by my amazing family, knowing this will never happen to me, because I have a strong safety net underneath me. I am aware that this is not the case for many other children. In the end, home can mean so many different things to so many different people. I am grateful for the home that I have been blessed with and I hope that everyone is rewarded with a home, like mine.
