Home is more than a house

Home is more than a house, a building or a place you live. It's where our story begins, it's the heartbeat of our family, it's a feeling of belonging, not just a place to live. It may be built by hands, but it’s created from hearts. As I said, it’s more than a house, because for me, home is more. Every day, walking through those doors after a long day of school, then walking into the kitchen and smelling some amazing food, and seeing your family. Then, hearing your cousins playing upstairs, you know your home. Finally, you walk into your room and see those memories of when Maybe you were in a different house, and you want to go back; you miss it, but it’s okay. Home is the one place in the whole world that will never change; no matter how far you move or how many years go by, home will always come with you. If it’s a small or big house, apartment or rental. If you know you’ll only be there for a couple of seasons, it’s still home. Sitting by the cozy fireplace, with your family sipping hot chocolate with marshmallows, you feel safe and secure because home is your refuge. Home is more than a brick room. It’s the people who fill it with life. The love and laughter that's shared within. Then lying in my bed looking out the window, thinking of all the fun times we’ve had, all the games, movies, the fun, laughter, dreams, tears, hopes and fears. There you know your home.
