Home isn’t a place it’s a feeling

To me, home is not a place; home doesn't have to have a roof or walls, all you have to have is people. It’s the ones you feel connected with — your friends and your family. Home is truly priceless. To me home is like a store where you can find the most valuable things in the world: love, happiness, and hope, but for free. In grade 3, I was bullied, and it was then that I realized home wasn’t just a place — it was the people who made me feel like I belonged. My family encouraged me and helped me through the highs and lows. For me, my friends and family are the ones who give me that feeling of belonging. My friends support me and make me feel like I can be myself, and my family loves me and helps me become a better person. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am now. Everybody has their own unique definition of home. To me, it’s reading with my mom before bed and listening to music with my dad on the way home from basketball. I hope that everyone eventually finds their own definition of home because without my definition of home I would be normal but with my family I’m not just some person I’m one of a kind.
