Home is not a structure; it’s love.

Home is not a structure; it’s love. Hello, my name is Paul, and I live in Toronto. I’ve seen so many people without homes. I am very grateful to have one. My home is my favourite place in the world. I feel safe and loved there. In my home, I share memories with my family and friends. To me, home is not a place, a building, or a room. It’s how you feel about a place. It’s also about the memories you and others have had there. Like watching fireworks out of a window on Canada Day together. Memories like that, I treasure. If I were to find a word to describe home, it would just be love. I would say that because it’s the emotion I feel most there. That's the emotion I feel when my parents give me a hug or I enjoy time with a loved one. But sometimes some people don’t have a home. Every time I see people like that, I become really sad. It would be very challenging to live not in a home, but on the streets. Because of this, each day I am grateful that I have a roof over my head and people to share it with me. This is what home means to me. How do you feel about home now? Has your opinion changed? To me, love is home, and for that reason, I would like to leave you with a quote. "Life takes you to unexpected places. Love brings you home." -Melissa McClone.
