A Place Called Home
Home is a word with a meaning; to some of us it means more than others.
See, I was born in a village about 30 minutes from where I live now. Me and my mom and dad stayed there for a while and then we moved when I was probably about 2-3 years old. My parents decided to move to a small city in Manitoba, to my dad's childhood home. The home we have now is the only home my younger sister has lived in. We live right beside a school, but I go to a French immersion school.
This is my last year at my elementary school. I'm in fifth grade. Next year I'm going to middle school. I have one sister, one mom, one dad and a dog named Max. I have family in the city I live in, family in the small village I was born in, and also family who live out in the country.
Every weekday I have school. I wake up in my comfy bed at exactly 7:00 AM. I eat breakfast (most of the time eggs), I brush my teeth and hair, get my lunch kit put it in my backpack, and I usually get dropped off at school. After an amazing day at school, I either have an activity (such as a sport) or I walk home with my sister. Me and my sister then pack our lunches and walk the dog. Then my father comes home at about 4:00 PM and makes supper. My mom usually comes around 5:00 PM right in time for dinner.
Every room in my home has made a priceless memory that cannot be replaced. For example, the memory in my living room, is when I was a little girl, every morning me and my dad would wake up super early, make pancakes and watch Star Wars. Or like in my kitchen, it is where I see my mom come home from work while I am eating every day. Or maybe like in my room, my room is downstairs where it is a little colder than upstairs, but I like the temperature downstairs. In my room is where my safe space is and I can go and relax and feel safe and read or listen to music. Meanwhile in my sister's room, that is where I can go to say hi and maybe play with or listen to music with her but sometimes, she can be annoying. But in my parent's room I can go there and sleep when I am sick or I break another bone. They make me feel welcome and make me feel better. All the rooms in my home make me feel a different way, good different. Thank you!
