What Home Means to Me
Home does not mean bricks and a roof; it's about the people inside. My family and I make memories, play games, and watch movies together. Home does not just mean a house; it means the community that it's in and all the people that care. Home is where I can express my feelings. I can feel relaxed, overwhelmed, upset, angry, happy, or sad, and there will always be someone there to comfort me. Wherever I go, I know I’m at home if the people that care about me are there. I am happy that I can have a nice warm bed I can sleep on and warm food I can eat because I know lots of people cannot afford a warm meal 3 times a day, or a nice bed they can sleep on, or least of all a home they can live in. I know families that cannot afford a home to live in struggle to even get 1 meal a day to their family. This year when our teacher explained the contest to us, I realized how expensive a house is and why it's important to help people that need it. A home is no ordinary place it's a place where you are always welcome and can be yourself. I hope all the entries this year help.
