My Meaning of Home

To me, home means feeling safe and warm. I love the smell of my mom’s traditional cooking, especially chicken shawarma. I enjoy helping her and my dad with chores and other tasks such as helping my dad fix cars. I want to work hard so I can give back to them. Since they will support me through college and the decisions I make, as I grow up, I want to pay them back out of respect and love. I have lived in Canada for three years now, and I love it because it is so safe. I like the schools, the teachers, and the people here. I am seeing things I’ve never seen before and learning about things I never knew. Canada feels like my new home. Home is family. It plants seeds for me to be a good person when I grow up. I lived in Jordan for seven years, and since then, I have traveled to many countries—like Colombia, Mexico, and America. I have been to over 17 countries in total. I went through many hard times in places that were not good, but I am thankful to be where I am now, what I say is my home.
