Meaning of Home- Why is Habitat for Humanity Important?

Habitat for Humanity is important to our community for so many reasons, but here are just a few! First of all, let's talk about what Habitat for Humanity is. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that gets donations to help people afford/buy a house because some people do not have enough money to afford proper housing. Right now, I know that Habitat for Humanity is thinking about building in the Goderich and Walkerton areas. This is very helpful for people right now especially with the housing crisis going on here in Canada. Also, an awesome thing about Habitat for Humanity is that they do not do it for money, in fact they don't even make any money for doing it! They just get donations from the community and people willing to step up and help out. How they do this is they gather up a group of volunteers to help build the house, even the future homeowners get to help build their very own house, wouldn't that be so cool if you got to help build your house? As of right now they have built 15 houses in Owen Sound, 16 in south Hamton, and overall, 78 houses in grey Bruce. They have helped 138 adults and 212 children since 1987. That's a lot of people who have been helped in just 38 years! Also, 64% of Ontario residents worry about sacrificing basic needs like food, education and clothing to afford their own house. I think that Habitat for Humanity is an awesome and helpful organization and why it should keep up its hard work!
