The Meaning of Home

Home is a sacred place. It is where you walked and talked for the first time. It is where you played your first game with your family, where you read your first book. A house is where you moved in, then tried to make it more like a home, but it can never be a home until you add some memories. A house is made from bricks and concrete, while a home is made from love, compassion, and memories. When you add those memories, then it doesn't matter what is in it. It will become a home. Home is like a shield that blocks hatred and detestation from touching you, and there is love and adoration inside. Hearing your dog bark “WOOF!” at the mailman, watching your brother gazing longingly outside while it is raining cats and dogs outside, and baking a cake with your parents are memories that can fill the gap and finally transform your house into a home. My home is my favorite place in the whole world.
