Not Just Walls
I love my home. You might think it’s just because I live here, or that I’ve gotten used to it. Not at all. I adore my home for so many more reasons than that.
Home isn’t just an address, or a few walls with a roof. It’s the feeling of coziness, happiness, and belonging. For me, it’s curling up in the corner with a classic book and losing myself in the story. It’s when my mom makes mouthwatering curry or delicious kheer that fills the air with comforting smells. It’s celebrating the joyous festivals of my culture, surrounded by family and laughter. Home is when I celebrate myself through the books I read, the food I love, and the traditions I cherish.
Home’s not just a place I stay; it’s where I learn who I am. Every corner, every wall teaches me courage and resilience. It helps me face the harsh world around me. It also teaches me how to be kind and compassionate. Home shows me the importance of caring for others, appreciating what I have, and doing my best every single time. It’s the place I go when the world has tired me out. It shapes me and gives me the strength to face life outside its walls.
Home is where I can finally let myself be. Every day, it nurtures me and helps me grow. This is why I don’t think of home as just a temporary place, but as a space to be free.
