What Does Home Mean to Me

Home to me is a place where I feel loved and cared about, where I can be myself. But Canada wasn't my first and only home; my first home was Israel, and I was born and raised there until the age of three. The reason I had to leave was that the country made us leave . When I left, I felt destroyed, and to this day, I still don't know why my family had to leave. However, leaving was one of the best decisions I've made in my entire life! Canada makes me feel like my best self ever. If I never moved here, I never would have met my amazing friends! The thing is, my home back in Israel was beautiful, with many beaches and lovely weather. It is very different to Canada's weather when it's cold, and the snow is around 30 centimeters long! Maybe longer anyways I love Canada ever since I moved here. It's a great place. I'm happy I moved here and my home is everywhere. I feel loved and supported. A home doesn't have to be a shelter, it just has to be a place where you are happy!
