Home to Me

To me, a house can belong to anyone, but a home is yours. To me, a home is family dinners. It is the feeling we get when we sit down and watch TV or when we cook a family meal together. To me, a house is the design, but the family makes it a home. It’s everyday waking up in my bed -in my room- and hearing my dog bark or my cat meow. It’s everything to the pantry, the bathroom, and to our pool that makes it feel exactly right. It is the time, the memories and the traditions that make it mine. It’s also my own personal items, like my picture of the time I was at my horse camp, and my riding coach took a picture of all of us on our horses. Or the pillow I got from the barn with my favourite horse's name on it. A home is also something that can change overtime. For example, I'm about to redo my room, and that a pretty big change for me. That's a small change- it could be something so drastic as moving! But I believe that home is anywhere the family is. I’m adopted, but my home made a HUGE impact on the way I settled in. It’s mine, and it’s amazing to live in. It truly is an experience to live in a home. I would like others to feel that feeling also. I hope this story helps other people in need of a home!
