What Home Means to Me

I feel that home is a place that everyone should have. The place you feel safe and loved. Memories will be made both good and bad. Where you can hide when things go wrong. Be yourself, in this wondrous place. Home can be anywhere and everywhere. Home can be house or an apartment, a school or a country. Wherever it is, you can always sleep safely, knowing that you are not alone. Smell the aroma of homemade meals wafting through the house. Taste the food that was made fresh and ready to eat. Hear the laughter and comforting words flowing through your home when you tell a good story. Home doesn’t have to be a house either though, some people say “home is where the heart is.” This is true in many ways. Open a window and feel the breeze in your face. See the sunset just before bed and sleep at peace, for you are at home, wherever that is for you. This is what I believe home is.
