Home vs House

What defines home? To me, I think home is where memories are made and where one is comforted by loved ones. Home is built up by memories and emotional attachment. For example, I feel at home when I get back from school and being able to relax with my dad, being able to go home and see my dog, Ravioli, and my cats, a sense of calm washes over me. Home is a place of comfort and safety, filled with loved ones all around. When I think of home, I picture my pets, my family, and warm food made with love. If you think about it, home is miles different than house. First, a house is a building. A home can be anything from a tent to a mansion. A house can feel unsafe, unfamiliar or scary. When you move you leave the memories you had in your old house behind so you have to build a new home inside the house. You can buy a house, but you can't buy a home, you have to build it yourself brick by brick, memory by memory. Your home will always be filled with family and comfort all around you. A house can be a home but a home is not always a house.
