What Home Feels Like to Me

Home is a place that I go to rest. Where I feel safe; where I feel my best. It's not all quiet; it's not all bright. But it feels like comfort at the end of the night. Home is familiar, the sounds and the space. The people, the walls, a well-known place. It is where I can sit and just be me. No need to change, no need to flee. Smells of dinner or a clean interior awaits me at home. It feels like a hug I don't need to hide. It holds my laughs, my tears, my days. All of my memories tucked away. Home isn't perfect; it never pretends; it stays with me through bends and ends. Home is a feeling gentle and true. Is there a place in this world that feels like home to you?
