The meaning of home

The meaning of home is different for many different people. For some the meaning of home is somewhere they feel safe. For others it's a kind loving mother with gentle hands, Or maybe a small house walking distance from a school with a big fluffy dog and a mother and father and a brother or sister to play ball with. Others have never had a proper home with a bed and a brother, sister, or mother. Home is always going to be a difficult subject. For me home is small, a feeling of nostalgia; it's where I grew up, My mother cooking food while me and my brother would go outside to play on the swingset, While my father would work on something in the barn. Me and my brother could laugh for hours while arguing over what game to play, then my mother would call us in for supper and we would watch cartoons on the TV. But over time that faded. Me and my brother don't play on the swing set anymore. He spends most of his time in his room playing games online, I spend most of my time reading or watching shows. My mother doesn't cook alone anymore because I have matured enough to help her, And my father has gotten older but he still works in the barn on the lawnmower. And I look back on old photos of me and my brother and my gap tooth smile and how my mother and father looked in their youth and I think where has all the time gone? But home has never changed; we all still have movie night every so often. And that's what home means to me.
