My Safe Place

Home is a place where I can smell the beautiful food that my mom cooks especially “mahshi.” It's the food that makes us belong to each other. Home is a place where I go under my blanket and take a rest from the hard work. It's a place where I feel welcome and free. Home isn't just a place that I live in, it's a place that has so many memories. Having my parents in the house is the most thing that I am grateful for a parent who loves me and I love them too. Home is a place that I can play with my siblings and feel free to go anywhere around the house. It's a place where I can speak my language and practice my culture. Home is a place where I celebrate my culture with my family and have my own new clothing on Eid! Home isn't just a place; it's having a family that loves you and having a good dish ready for you.
