My Kind of Home

Home is where my heart feels light, where worries fade and things feel right. It's where I don't worry how I look or sound because being myself is always allowed. I moved from Manitoba far away, i was scared at first i’ll always say, new streets new faces a brand new start. Ontario felt strange inside my heart. But kindness followed me all the way in little smiles I'd see each day. That's when I learned and it felt so true- home isn't a place it's the people with you. It’s not a country or a spot on the map, not a house or a room you unpack. Home is the one’s who stays by your side, they let you feel safe and full of pride, wherever those people are I know that's where my heart will always call home. Home is where I laugh and giggle, eating dinner while my Pepsi sizzles. At home I hear my sister scream “I'm better than you’ll ever be!” Running home from school everyday just to go home and play. And now I know home will stay with me no matter where I go. Thank you Habitat for Humanity, for these great operationites!
