Where I Belong

Sunlight spills across the floor, golden beams through the open door. I feel a quiet peace inside of me, Safe and warm, where I want to be. I hear soft laughter, voices near, A gentle reminder that someone is here. My heart feels lighter, and my worries fade, A simple sound that makes me feel safe. The smell of Pav Bhaji fills the air, warm and comforting everywhere. I taste it slowly, warm and true, A flavor of home pulling me through. My fingers twist a Rubik’s Cube, Or press buttons on a game console too. I find joy in these simple things, small moments happiness brings. A cool breeze brushes past my face, I feel calm in this safe place. Home is not just walls to me, It’s where I’m happy to be. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity, for giving people homes and hope, for helping families find a place To feel safe and learn to cope.
