My Home

A home is not like a house with four walls and a roof. Home is a place where you have a family who cares about you. A mom who makes all your favourite foods and lights the kitchen with an aroma that sparks joy in your heart. A dad who is willing to quickly make or fix anything your heart desires. And a younger brother or sister who wants more than anything to hang out with their older sibling. Your family will always be there. A home is a place where different kinds of memories are made. From big ones to small ones, from sweet ones to sad ones. Like when your family just bought a new pet. Or when someone you love just passed away. It’s the moments in the memories that make them special. Home is a place where you feel safe. Where you slowly become warm and comfortable by the fireplace on a day when it’s too cold to go to school. When you’re with people you care about, and with people who care about you. It’s who you’re with that counts, not what you’re doing. No matter how quiet or loud, messy or organized, my home will always be my home.
