Home isn't just a house

Everyone has a home, but everyone's idea of home is different. Home to you could be the hockey rink, where you spend all your Sundays. It could be your gramma’s house or condo, where you cook or bake in the kitchen with her. It could even be the local library, because being with rows upon rows of books is your happy place. A place called home. But when I think of my home, to me, I think of my house. My house, where even if you are having a terrible day, walking right onto the colorful welcoming mat outside and through the gray, polished door will instantly make you feel 10 times better! To me, it is having that feeling that you're safe and cozy, surrounded with family. It is the fun times when you have family game night, smelling a burning candle that your mom lit to make the aroma of the house an unforgettable smell, while jumping up and down because you finally beat your stepdad at Trouble! I remember a time when I had a really hard day at school, and as I stepped through the door, with my left foot leading the way. The moment all of my body was through the door, it was magical. I felt all better! In conclusion, I am grateful for the place I call home, because to me, home isn’t just a house!
