Home

Not everybody has a home but I do. Home is a place where I can be myself. I can play with my family and read lots of books. I came from Dubai to Canada. I was so scared when I landed! I didn't know anyone . My parents and I were living from hotel to hotel until my Dad got a job! My family and I got enough money to move to a place called 1881 Plaza. I lived there for one and a half years. We then moved to a new building called Harbourview. My family and I have made friends. We invited them to our home . A few months later my Mom and Dad had to go to the hospital for my baby sister who we named Emma. I was in a school called Sjam in Grade Primary and Grade one. I had to leave Sjam because my Mom was worried that I would learn too much French and forget English. I moved to a school called Inglis Street Elementary School . I thought that my teachers would be strict but they have been amazing! I’m having such a good life here in my new home. My home isn’t just a building made of bricks, it is a treasure chest of my favorite things and people. I hope that others can be as fortunate as me to have a wonderful place they call home.
