My Home

When I walk through the white framed door to my house, my home, my shelter, my support, The knot in my stomach uncurls, evaporating into air like steam. With each careful step I take inside I drift away to a different world, a world where nothing matters, a world where I can do anything, Where we sit down, me and my family warm hot meals. As we eat we submerge in conversation the gentle flow of words is almost perfect. But my favorite place in the world is my kitchen, granite countertops and sunlight beaming through the windows. It's where I learned to do so many things: talk, walk, cook. I'm so grateful for my home and my family my mom my dad my brother and me its where im loved and supported its where im angry and sad but most of all its where i’m me Habitat for humanity gives that to other people along with so many other things A home and opportunities to make memories just like I have this organization helps so many less fortunate people helping them have a home and helping them feel like they belong Thank you habitat for humanity for the amazing things your doing
