Home to Me

Meaning of home. It is not just a building, it is not just a house, it is a place where I feel happy inside. It's a place where I know that I will be safe and not scared and not have to be worried about what is behind me. I can just think of what's in front of me. I can be myself and I don't have to worry about people judging me even though my brother always does, it’s just how we work together. He always finds a way to annoy me but I still love him. Home is a place where I smell mom’s cooking. I love to cook and bake with her, even though I mess up sometimes. It's still so fun. Home is also a place where my dad is super funny and makes me laugh. That’s not even all the reasons I love him, same with my mom and brother Now I can’t forget about Jett, my puppy. He can still be annoying because he’s learning how to not bite, but he is so fun when he plays chase around the tables. My home is my main place where I live but some other places are also like home to me, like the soccer field. Why it's like home to me is because I am there 4 times a week and my brother has it 3 times a week so we are a soccer family. Me and coach Iain have a very special connection. I have so many nicknames for him. These are some of them: bold eagle, mister clean, he is a great soccer coach because he won’t be mean but he just wants you to help you be a better soccer player. Home is not even close to a house. It's like a blanket or a heating pad. A home is where your heart is, at least mine. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving people a chance to have a place to call home.
