Home Sweet Home

Home is a place where my family and I feel safe. It's like the feeling when someone gives you the biggest and warmest hug ever. The smell when you walk through the door after a long trip, the taste of your mom’s home made dinner, the feeling when you hear your dad shut the front door after a long day and when you run up to him all you can smell is the diesel on his hands. Those are some examples of feeling loved. Every home is different because every family is different. My home is a modern bungalow style. I have a mom, a dad, a sister, a brother and a dog. Almost every day we go to dance and we get home really late so it feels good to go to bed after a long night. At every home different people have different traditions. At my home one of our traditions is that every summer we go to Canada's Wonderland. It is so much fun. Another tradition in my household is that every Christmas we read the book, “The Night before Christmas”. It has been a tradition in my family for a long time and I mean a long long time. One last tradition that we do in my family is that on a chilly night we snuggle up on the couch in front of the foyer and watch “Gilmore Girls”. My house is not just a home, it is the place where I feel most loved, comfortable and well heard. At my home my family and I feel safe. Like in the summer when the cousins come up to my home. We will stay up all night and spill the tea, tell secrets, blast music and tell hilarious jokes. I feel safe when the feelings of laughter, joy and happiness take over the control of my body. Home is a place where me and my family feel safe. I think Habitat for Humanity should keep working so every family can have a safe place.
