Home is not just a building.
On the first day of war, I didn't understand that my life would change forever.
My parents packed only the most important stuff, and we left our city and even the country. We went to another country. My parents decided that we were going to Canada. They explained that they want a better future for my brother and me, and want us to live in a safe country. While we traveled to Canada, I was scared and worried about what would happen next.
Now we live in Canada, and we are again building a new life and a new home. I am going to school, making new friends. We even got a dog, and we are taking care of him, which makes us feel calmer and safer.
After we moved, I realized something very important: Home is not just a building or a place on a map. Home is the people who are around you, like parents and relatives. My parents always make me feel comfortable, safe, and happy, even so far away from our loved home where I was born and raised.
I am sure that one day, when peace comes to my country, I could return to my native home even if only for a short visit. My grandparents and friends are still there. I hope that one day we will all live together in a safe place and build a home wherever we are.
I think a lot of people dream of having their own home, but if you had a home and cannot live there anymore, you understand the true meaning of the word HOME.
Home is not just walls. It's about your family, people, care, and safety. You can build a home anywhere. But having your parents and relatives near you is the most important thing of all.
