THE AFFECTION OF HOME

Home. House. These two words may sound similar, but they are different. Some people believe that a home and a house are identical. If you thought that, it's time to put your seatbelt on and get ready to discover how different a home and a house really are. A house is a place you live in and that shelters you. It can be a tent, a car, or even a spaceship. A home is quite different. A home is a place where you feel a sense of belonging, love, safety, and comfort. At night, my home is quiet; there is just enough moonlight shining through the windows, and it feels like the moonlight is bright fireworks. Home may be a physical space, but it is also the presence of loved ones, a familiar scent, and a place where you feel secure and happy. My home reminds me of gaming consoles, cooking, and board games. My mom makes the best food. Whenever I walk into my kitchen, I smell delicious, flavourful, spicy food cooking on the stove. My family plays board games on Friday or Saturday nights. We usually play Ticket To Ride and eat buttery popcorn. Sometimes we play video games together. Friday and Saturday nights are my favourite time together. My family is one of the many reasons I love home. They are the best, and I love them more than anything in the entire world. Have you read The Wizard of Oz? Dorothy’s determination to return home to Oz is powerful. After all, there’s really no place like home! Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote the quote “A house is made of walls and beams; a home is made of love and dreams”. Home and house may differ, but both have deep meaning.
