Home

Houses and homes are two very different things. A house is a structure with objects, but a home is where your family is and where you are happy and safe. Home is where you smell food cooking, like mashed potatoes and chicken and a place to hang out like your bedroom. A house is just a place on a road. In my home, I spend a lot of time with my family in our living room. In my living room I have a big woodstove that warms up the whole house. In the living room, my family plays board games like Monopoly and Life and solves puzzles. We also watch movies in the living room. Everyone deserves a home. Every night, my family has a family dinner all together and I think that is important in a home. After school, I love to come home and smell food like turkey and corn cooking. It always makes it feel like home. Everyone deserves a home. In my community, I feel safe. I feel safe because everybody knows everyone. All of the people in my community are very kind. I feel lucky and happy to have a kind and safe neighbourhood. Everyone deserves a home. Not everyone has a home, but everyone wants one. I am thankful to have a home every day. I feel relaxed when I’m hanging out with my family in my living room. It makes me feel safe to have a kind community. It makes me feel at home to smell dinner cooking. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for what you do.
