The Meaning of Home
Many people think that houses are made from brick, drywall, paint and floor. But when it comes to the meaning of home, to me, it is so much more. Home for me means the hard work, kindness and dedication that my parents put into buying a home and providing shelter for me and my family. Home is a place where you can be yourself, where you don’t have to think of what others are thinking of you. Home is my safe place. When I am walking home from the bus stop, sometimes I get scared if I see a suspicious car and I think someone is going to kidnap me. However, I am so happy when I get to my safe place known as home because I know I am going to be ok. Home is also where you fight with your siblings but from personal experience fighting with your sibling makes you stronger and it helps you not be bothered by what people think of you and helps you defend yourself more. Lastly, home is a place that holds memories, sometimes too good to let go of. For example, memories of traditions or jokes or that trouble that you would get into and laugh about later. Your home often smells of something familiar; of the food you cook or of the place that your parents provide for you. Lastly home is the place where I learned to ride a bike and read a book and so much more. That is what home means to me.
