Home
Home isn't just a building, nor is it just a place where you take shelter, for everyone’s home is different. For me, home is bustling streets filled with vibrant colors.
It's the never-ending honking of cars stuck in the traffic, the fresh smell of roasted corn filling the air, the bumpy roads and old buildings.
Home is the yelling of multiple people debating on which soccer team is going to win and the joyful tears when they do. Home is the earthy smell after rain, the crowing of roosters that greet the early morning sun.
It’s the green fields that stretch far and wide in rainy seasons, the sweet taste of sugar canes and the children rushing into school after the bell. It’s the comforting aroma of different foods and the laughter that follows after or children sprinting outside to buy snacks from the hawker. Home is the different parties at peoples ceremonies and the traditional music that everyone sings along too. Home is riding with your bicycle down that one hill that everyone loves.
As I just described, home can be different for everyone. But for me home isn't about where you stay, it's the people you stay with that really make it home.
