Home

A home is not just a house. It does not have to be big. It does not have to look special. Home is a place where you feel safe. It's a safe place where you heart can feel calm. You can sit down and breathe. You do not have to worry all the time. You can rest here. When you are scared, home is where you can go. You can hide under blanket. You can hold someone's hand. You know nothing bad can happen. At home, people are kind to you. They do not yell and be mean. They do not hurt your feelings on purpose. They help you feel better. Home is where you can make mistakes. You might spill milk, you may get a bad grade but you are still cared for. Sometimes the world feels loud and confusing. People rush, people argue. Home is the place where things slow down. Home is where someone listens. They listen when you talk. They listen when you cry. They listen when you don't even know what to say. That is what home means to me. Home is not just a place on a map. Home is a feeling in your heart. Home is where you are protected. Where you are cared for. Where you are loved. Where you belong. Even if home changes, that feeling can still stay the same. Safe is safe. Loved is Loved.
