Home is Mine

Home is the place where my worries get quiet and my heart feels light. It’s warm like a blanket, soft like a hug that lasts a little longer because someone missed you. Home sounds like footsteps I know by heart, like laughter drifting down the hallway, like a voice saying, “You’re safe now.” Home smells like pancakes on a Saturday morning and the pages of books I’ve read a hundred times. Home is where I can be me— the crazy me, the tired me, the big dreamer me. Home isn’t just walls or windows. It’s a feeling that follows me wherever I go, a tiny light inside that never goes out. Home is love. Home is where I belong. Home is mine.
