Home

What is home to me? Home is somewhere I can go to feel safe and welcome. At home I see everyone happy and having fun. I see all my family members at the dinner table where I feel loved and appreciated. I see my family and I watching a movie, eating popcorn and making more memories together. Wherever we are at, it always feels like home because home is not just the house, it’s the people in it and the memories you make. At home, I hear laughter at the dinner table full of love. My dogs barking and having fun outside playing with each other. My sister, my brother and I play together. Home is the memories my family and I make together. At home I taste the food that my mom and dad make full of love. I taste the soft fluffy pancakes my grammy makes in the mornings. When we are at her house it feels like home because she is family and family is home. At home I smell the popcorn we have on family movie nights and the delicious dinner my mom and dad make. Especially the mac n cheese my dad makes that I love because it’s homemade and that’s home to me. At home I feel loved, safe and cared for. I feel my warm cozy bed. At home I feel lucky that I have a home to go to that is safe, everyone should have a home like that. I wish for Habitat for Humanity to help people in need because everyone deserves a safe home to go to and to live where they feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for just like me.
