The Meaning of Home
For some people, home is a bed,a fridge full of groceries to stay fed, and your parents. To me it's something entirely different. Home is a roof and four walls but that's not what I’m here to talk about. In my eyes home is my whole family gathering at the dinner table once my dad shouts “FOOD IS READY!!” We all race there gluing our eyes on the delectable cheesy bread my dad has prepared in the pizza oven. We all scram there to slam five pounds of mouthwatering glory. Home is my dogs and cat greeting me at the front door waiting to jump right up on me. My pets will forever hold a special place in my heart. I pray there will never be a time where we part. Home is my brothers yelling about the PS5 breaking down on them again. I’m very grateful because some people don't have older siblings to look up to. Home is hot chocolate, warm cinnamon rolls that have just come out of the oven and a blanket sitting on my lap. Home is the whole family meeting by the TV to eat popcorn and chocolate all night long. Home is my mom somehow always looking for a new cheese cake recipe to try. It's fine because I’ll find some time to eat it. Home sounds like our ninja creamy ice cream machine. I can hear it right now as I’m typing this out! It's about time I go try it out! My house is full of treasures and important things. I’m so grateful for Habitat for Humanity and I hope that my poem helps people all around Canada. Thank you Habitat for giving people helping people. Thank you to my teacher because I wouldn't be where I am today without her.
