The Meaning of Home

Home is different for everyone, but here is how I think of it. When I think of home, I picture a warm, cozy safe space with a family sitting at a table, sharing fun stories with each other while the fireplace crackles. It protects you from the outside world and the weather. To me, it means a place to make and share fun memories. To others, it might be to relax or stop worrying about stressful things. Also, if I'm sad, I get to wrap myself up in blankets and let all my bad thoughts go away. I’m only able to do that because of my bed which is part of my home. Others might talk to a parent or a sibling while I like to keep it simple and let home comfort me. Christmas and thanksgiving are memories we get at home. Homes are very important to us even if we don’t realize it. Can you imagine a world without homes? You spend most of your life in your home! I love my home, and I feel grateful to have one. Maybe someday, everyone could at least have that experience once in a lifetime. If only we could do that now and give people, the home they deserve. The world isn’t perfect. Finally, if I do win, I’d be glad that I had helped a family out because everyone deserves a place to call home.
