Home is Where I Belong

Home is where I belong. The way I see it, home isn’t just an ordinary building. My home isn’t all about the furnitures and decorations. Instead it is the people, memories and love within. My home contains love, loved ones and memories. It is a place where I love others and know I am loved. In my case, my loved ones are my family. Arguments sometimes raged in my house, but that will never separate the bond between my family. Our home will always be connecting us together, like beads on a string. Coming home from school, the strong and delicious aroma of steamed fish wafted from the kitchen. Despite the frosty winter, me and my family come together every New Year to share a heartwarming meal. Fish in my culture was believed to bring prosperity and good fortune to the upcoming year. My home is a place for me and my family to celebrate with joy and togetherness. An area where I could follow my family’s traditions without shame. Home is where memories are made. Happy, joyful ones, and sorrowful memories too. True, I have shed tears and argued. However, we always forgive each other in the end. Looking at my picture frame wall, you could tell how much I treasure the memories with my family and friends. My home will help me continue to create new, valuable memories. I reflected on how lucky my family was to have a home. A place where we all truly belonged. My home isn’t just a building. Home is where joyful memories are made. A building dearest to me, and a place where others wish to experience. Home will always be etched deep into my heart. Thank you Habitat Humanity, for helping people without a home.
