Dordly Becomes a Refugee

Once there was someone named Dordly. Dordly was a happy child that lived in a home that he loved a lot. One day when Dordly was coming back from school, he saw something in the air. It looked like a plane but it was carrying something and looked like it was going to drop it. Then he heard his mom screaming: run Dordly! Come back home! As soon as he heard that, he turned around and started running towards his mom. When he reached his mom, she said that a war was starting and they might have to leave their home and country. When Dordly heard that, he was very worried. He had so many questions: What will happen to our home?; Will I ever see it again?; Will we have a home?; Will we have one as good as this one?; Will we even be ok?. His mom told him that she will answer most of the questions when they reach home. When they were home, his mom answered most of the questions. “What will happen to our home?”: Our home will get destroyed. “Will we have a home?” We will have a shelter to protect us. “Will we be alive?” I don't know…. Two weeks later, Dordly’s mom woke him up and said, “We have to leave and you can only take a few things with you. Be FAST!” They left in a rush by car. They saw many other people trying to leave the country in panic just like them. After a long journey, they crossed the border into another country and reached a refugee camp. They were given a small shelter to live in just as Dordly’s mom had told him. This was their new home from now on! Now they can live safely without worry.
