Home
Home has different meanings to different people.
For some it might be safety, family or just a place to live.
For me it is where we feel most ourselves, home gives me safety,
a place where I can rest without fear.
Home is where I can invite family and friends over.
It is a place where we all share laughter and joy.
A place where we all can share our beliefs and traditions.
Home is a powerful word describing comfort, belonging and family.
For people staying away from home,
They might miss the smell of freshly cooked food.
Some might miss the comfort of their own bed.
Not being able to see your friends or family.
For some people they miss cuddles from their dog,
Or having conversion over the dinner table
For most people there aren’t missing a place,
They are missing a whole feeling about belonging.
Lastly my hearts aches to think about children,
who don’t have a place to call home.
This could be because of war or financial loss.
They have no food on their plates,
Or don’t have a roof on top of their head.
Feeling displaced and not belonging,
I can’t imagine how hard life must be for them.
I wish everyone had a place they could call home.
A place that gives them warmth and safety.
No matter how big or small, every child should have a home,
That gives them love, warmth and security.
This is my wish for all the years to come.
