The Home I Know

Home. Home is a place where I can feel safe. I love being in my home because it's a place I can express myself and be me. As I twisted the door knob open, I saw my furry dogs, Oscar and Duke playing in front of the door. I kneeled down and gave both of my dogs a warm pat on the head, but they both jumped up onto me and licked my face. After I got up I walked through the hallway and I suddenly smelt a fresh batch of cookies leaving a trail of delight. I followed the taste smell and it led me straight to the kitchen where I saw my sister baking as usual. I grabbed a cookie and after I took a bite. I felt the cookie melting into my mouth as I savored the fl ower. After that wonderful experience I took a long and last deep breath of the warm and chocolatey smell of the cookies. Then, I slowly walked upstairs and admired the family photos on the wall. My favorite one was when I went on a trip to Europe with my family. We spent so many memories there, and I hope to continue to make more with my family. I walked into my room as I felt the warmth touch my skin. I changed into my warm and comfy clothes, then I jumped into my bed and snuggled up then watched on my laptop. As the sun started to set my mom called me down for dinner. I ran down the stairs to a beautiful set dinner table. I joined my family and the room was filled with laughter and joy. As my family chatted away I thought to myself. “This is the home I know.”
