A House Is Not a Home
A home is not a house, a house is not a home. It takes a builder to build a house, a family to make it a home. It's the families that build the community and it’s those communities that build the world we live in. A home is not just walls and a roof but a place for family, joy and celebrations of all kinds, no matter who your family is.
A home can mean lots of different things, whether it's because of shelter, comfort or security. It's where love and hope lies and where a sense of self thrives and where you can feel safe and loved forever and forever.
Home is where you grew up and had a childhood, whether you stayed there for 10 years or 1, it's a place to grow and learn as a person and it's a foundation for wonder and imagination to spark. It's a transition from the outside world to your own personal space, it's where you can find out who you are and what you enjoy. It's where you can share your feelings and be yourself, no matter who you are.
A home is so important in everyone's lives, but a lot of people don't have their own, and a house might not mean a home but it can be a foundation for what a home can be. And if we the community come together we can make it a reality.
Thank you The Meaning of Home Writing Foundation for helping, supporting and guiding people in need and for all your hard work.
