Meaning of Home
Home is not just a place made of bricks and walls; it is the heart of everything that makes
me feel safe and loved. For me, home is where my family gathers, whether it is around the dinner table, laughing over a shared meal, or in the living room, telling stories from our day.
It is the familiar smell of my favorite dish cooking in the kitchen and the sound of my sibling’s
voice calling out to me from another room. It is the quiet moments to read a book on a cozy
couch, watch the snowfall outside, or hear the comforting hum of everyday life.
For me, home is more than just a physical space. It is where memories are made such as
celebrating birthdays, playing games, or even just sitting together on an ordinary day. It is the
love and care we show one another, the way we support each other during tough times, and the joy we share in our successes.
Furthermore, home is a part of something bigger. It is connected to my neighbourhood, where I
am welcomed by people I know and feel at home. Besides that, my home is in Canada, a place
where people from all backgrounds come together to foster a sense of belonging.
Home, as I have learned in Canada, is about diversity and inclusivity. I am aware that, as a
country, we work to give everyone the same sense of safe and valued belonging that my family
gives me. Whether in a small rural town or a busy urban city, we are all a part of a bigger home
where we look out for and support one another.
To me, home means love, warmth, and belonging. It is a place where I can be my true self,
surrounded by people who care for me unconditionally. Home is not just where I live, it is where
my heart feels at peace.
