Meaning of Home
I am from eating delish blueberries in my old rickety highchair with a baby spoon
to going to Sushi Jen and eating scrumptious sushi and SALMON with soya sauce;
from devouring mashed squash and broccoli tops with cheese
to craving pickles and pizza when I am hungry after school.
I am from playing with my Lightning Mc Queen stuffy while a My Little Pony show plays in the background
to reading Warriors and Wings of Fire for amazing fun;
from reading board books like Snowmen at Christmas and There’s a Wocket in my Pocket
to playing soccer in my lush backyard in the summer with my dog Star.
I am from the far-out country in a town called Woodlands, Manitoba
to living close to the suburbs but not living in them;
from chasing chickens through the forest of glorious trees
to living in Gonor and playing among the baby trees.
I am from jumping around in my sprinkler and watching it make marvelous rainbows
to splashing in my huge pool with my mom and dad;
from playing in my crib for hours and hours with my moo cow stuffy
to throwing the ball for my dog Star in a sunny afternoon in spring.
I AM HOME!
