What Home Means

Home is a funny phrase, you hate it at times, but other times, you would give everything for it. Many people think the term “home” is just a word, others think home is just an apartment, condo or house. Home is more than just that. It's a place for comfort, love, and friendship. But it is also for fear, and it is for sadness, and for sacrifice. At the same time it is none of that. There are so many good things at home. Home is comfort in knowing that if you had a bad day you can take comfort in someone or something that brings you joy. Home is love, when you go to your home, whoever’s there will love you unconditionally. Home is friendship, all friendships you make will be there to support you in dark times. There can be bad things associated with home too. Home is sacrifice, to keep an intact home, you must make sacrifices for the ones you love. However, these sacrifices are worth it if you can ensure that your home stays. Home is disagreement, it’s natural to disagree with people and in your home, it shows growth and development in relationships. Home is fear, you may fear that you will lose somebody in your home, loss can be beneficial because it will hurt but will also make you stronger. There is one final thing. Home is growing. You may change from house to house as you grow old, but your home will not change.” Home is the nicest word there is. Where we love is home - home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” Oliver Wendall Holmes . After all, home is all about belonging, about being and interacting with others. I have a question, what is your home?
