My Safe Place

Home is where memories are made, where my mom cooks delicious food filled with love. We sit at the dining table laughing at what happened at school today. I help my mom with the dishes and go get ready for bed. The dark blankets the sky and I get scared, but I remind myself that I'm safe at home and my family is always there. When I woke up, I realized we were going to miss the school bus. I woke my parents up in a rush, and they told me it was Saturday! I ran down the stairs, jumped on the couch, and turned on the TV. My mom told me I had to have my breakfast first, so I said pancakes. So I turned off the TV and got the maple syrup for my pancakes. When I finished, it started raining. Thankfully, we have a roof over our heads. Once everyone finished their pancakes, we all huddled together and started a movie. I got all the blankets from the house and my brother and I made a pillow fort to watch the movie in it. We realized the rain had stopped, so we paused the movie and went out to play.
